Nonetheless, we both have fond memories of this song when we were young -- Kelly actually owned this tape (the single) that she remembers excitedly purchasing (well, talking her mom into purchasing for her) along with Martika's Toy Soldier single. Hope you enjoy the song and video as much as we do :)
Howard Jones - Everlasting Love

LOVE this song and love Howard Jones!
Saw him this summer in full electronic glory down in Dayton, and have seen him a number of times acoustic in recent years, including twice at the Winchester....
I can make a mean Howard Jones mix, let me tell you.
I dug this song, and also the other single from this album, "The Prisoner."
You're two for two on Retro Wednesday so far.
And bonus for the Martika mention....
Don't let me down!
This video is so weird it made me angry. I have no idea why but it was just too much for my little brain to handle.
Recently I was talking to a few friends and we decided that the only real thing you need to become famous in this world is a voice changer thingy. You know the one, where the voice gets really electronic-y and watery. I think rappers really like this device, but Howard Jones was no stranger to it either. This video cracks my shit up. You guys should be those mummies for Halloween!
Martika. Oh my god. Was she the one that got her start on Kids Incorporated?
What a way to start my day!
That suit is probably the awesomely most terrible thing I've seen in a while...
Matt - Thanks for your continued support. We can only hope to meet the lofty expectations that have already been set :)
Narm - You're brain is not small at all, this video just does not have that much to it, it was the 80's after all. We both agree if there had been a giant squid or two in the video, perhaps it would have tickled your fancy.
Sarah - Well, you've given us a great idea, not only are we going to be mummies for Halloween (looking fwd to your visit), but we are going to be decked out complete with this:

Had to look it up, that's the thing that makes the noises. It is referred to as the "Golden Throat"
CB - Yes, Martika was in fact on Kids Inc. We were also fans. It is amazing that the show produced Fergie, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Martika. We were wondering whatever became of Ryan from that show. . .

We looked it up and guess what? He is from freaking Cleveland. The world is so small sometimes.
Jason - You're lucky b/c this music video pales in comparison to having seen Hamlet 2!
