Throughout the past few weeks, we have really been digging the latest offering from The Little Ones, Morning Tide. And, as luck would have it, they are coming to Cleveland this Saturday at The Beachland Ballroom with Brett Dennen.
While listening to this eclectic band's music, one question that has been swimming around in our minds is: What/Who do you think exactly are influences behind The Little Ones sound?
Just contact us via the comment section or email (teamgf@gmail.com) and you have the opportunity to win a signed vinyl record and t-shirt -- we will choose the winner by Friday*

Tiny Tim, Abba, and The Shins.
I agree on The Shins but I hear a major influence from the 60's/70's...thinking The Zombies and/or The Mamas & The Papas. If answering "what" inspiration, I'm def hearing sun! Listen to Oridanary Sonf and we're hearing rays and raybans!
Oooh, tough call. I can't really pinpoint the exact bands but this has a nice mid to late 90s indie rock vibe (ah, the good old days). Maybe a hint of Yo La Tengo, Mojave 3, and Get Up Kids and new school Belle and Sebastian in there?
The date keeps changing! Totally unfair.
Actually, that's cool. Is it possible to just win tix to the show?
CB - haha ;) I know, we were extending it so more people could participate. Plus, I originally typed the wrong "due date." Unfortunately, we're not offering free tix as part of the contest. . .sorry

ps - Love how you put "Tiny Tim" as something that influenced The Little Ones
Interesting fun band. I am not Sub Pop or Saddle Creek enough to come up with band similarities... haha.
They do remind me of a modern version of the Kinks with their joyful clapping and harmony and a less insane Flaming Lips. Also I keep thinking of a happier version of Postal Service when I hear the songs you shared...
After checking them out they appeal to me more so as they just have this positive feel. This is one of those bands that would stop me had I heard them at an outdoor festival.
I so do not hear Tiny Tim in this...sorry...
Ooh, can't wait to hear this when I get home! Back in a bit!
I definitely get the whole Shins thing people are saying, but there's something different about this, more like The Morning Benders or even a brighter Sea Wolf.
I don't know if it's too late and it doesn't matter, I just wanted to give a listen!
